Alternative / Specialised Placement

Follow

Many sites offer programs where animals that would not ordinarily proceed to rehoming are offered for adoption for specific purposes, such as barn cats, colony cats, or farm/working dogs.

These animals may need to be identified as distinct from a regular adoption animal. The Alternative/Specialised Placement field was designed to mark and track these animals specifically.

The first thing you must do to apply this field is set up options in Administration. See the Administration Functions for Alternative/Specialised Placement help document for further information.

Once options have been set up, follow this process to track your animals:

  1. Search for the animal in question
  2. From the Animal Details page, scroll down until you find the Alternative/Specialised Placement drop-down.2017-03-17_7-45-31.jpg
  3. Click the down arrow to see options and select an appropriate program.
  4. With the selection visible in the drop down window, click the Update button on the Animal Details page to save.
  5. You can now use this field to track animals marked for this program while they are in care.
  6. You can also apply this field via the Adoption Processing page if preferred.2017-03-17_7-51-50.jpg
  7. The selection will remain with the animal until manually removed, to enable tracking both in and out of care.

The field can be tracked using the following reports:

  • 226 In Care Inventory
  • 9 Shelter Statistics - Incoming
  • 10 Shelter Statistics - Outgoing
  • 197 Incoming Detail List
  • 198 Outgoing Detail List
  • 222 Adopters Report
