Internal Transfer Procedure: Animal No Longer In Care

Follow

Sometimes, it may be necessary to add history that an animal was transferred after it has left care. This process takes you through how to do that if required.

  1. From the Animal Details page for the animal to be transferred, locate the link Transfer in the right hand Animal Menu
  2. Click the link and you will see a message that reads "This animal is not in care and cannot be transferred."
  3. Click the link Add Transfer History that appears beneath this.
  4. From the drop down at the top, select the Physical Location the animal was transferred FROM.
  5. From the next drop down, select the Physical location that the animal was transferred TO (received into).
  6. Click the Calendar Icon to select the date the animal was transferred. Note: the date of transfer must be the same as or earlier than the exit status date.
  7. Use the drop down options to select the time of the transfer. Note: if the transfer date is the same as the exit date, the time selected must be earlier than the exit time.
  8. Click the Add Details button

The animal's Status History will now cause it to appear as an exception on reports such as Asilomar and Maddies Fund because the exit location does not match. To correct this:

  1. Go into Administration > and search for the Animal ID number.
  2. Click the Edit link for any statuses that appear after the transfer statuses and amend their Physical Location.
  3. Click the Change Animal's Current Status? box for the exit status (if still current) to make sure the history updates correctly
  4. Click Edit Status History to save your changes.
  5. Repeat for any other affected statuses until all the statuses that appear after the Internal Transfer reflect the Physical Location the animal actually departed from.
