Manage Reasons for Consult

Reasons for Consult are linked to the Vet Consult procedure and identify the reason the animal was presented to the veterinary clinic for care.

To add a Reason for Consult:

  1. From the Welcome/Search page, click the Administration link in the orange left-hand menu.
  2. From the Administration Menu, find and click on the option Edit Drop Down Lists
  3. When this page loads, scroll down until you locate the option Reasons for Consultation
  4. Click the link Add - A pop-up will deploy,
  5. Enter the reason for consult into the text box and use the required case as this field does not have auto-case. 
  6. Click the Add Reason for Consultation button. 
  7. The pop-up will close.
  8. The new Reason for Consult will now be available in the drop-down list on the Vet Consult page. 

To Edit an existing Reason for Consult:

  1. From the Welcome/Search page, click the Administration link in the orange left-hand menu.
  2. From the Administration Menu, find and click on the option Edit Drop Down Lists
  3. When this page loads, scroll down until you locate the option Reasons for Consultation
  4. Click the link Edit - A pop-up will deploy,
  5. Click the down arrow at the end of the drop-down box and scroll through to find the item you would like to edit. Click to select it so it shows in the box.
  6. Enter the corrected reason for consult into the text box below and use the required case as this field does not have auto-case. 
  7. Click the Edit Reason for Consultation button. 
  8. The pop-up will close.
  9. The updated Reason for Consult will now be available in the drop-down list on the Vet Consult page.

To Delete an existing Reason for Consult

  1. From the Welcome/Search page, click the Administration link in the orange left-hand menu.
  2. From the Administration Menu, find and click on the option Edit Drop Down Lists
  3. When this page loads, scroll down until you locate the option Reasons for Consultation
  4. Click the link Delete - A pop-up will deploy,
  5. Click the down arrow at the end of the drop-down box and scroll through to find the item you would like to delete. Click to select it so it shows in the box.
  6. Click the Delete Reason for Consultation button. 
  7. The pop-up will close.
  8. The Reason for Consult will no longer be available in the drop-down list on the Vet Consult page, but it will still be preserved in the history of any pet that had it assigned previously and will still be reportable provided the report is not filtered by specific Reasons for Consult.
