Emergency Evacuation: Release

Follow

Depending on the circumstances of the emergency, an Emergency Evacuation Animal may be released back into the custody of the person who delivered it in the first place (if that was the rightful owner) OR it may need to be released into the custody of someone other than the person who surrendered it into care (e.g. if the animals were entered anonymously due to being evacuated from a disaster area). It may also be released permanently to the care of the shelter that took it in (e.g. if the shelter that evacuated the animal was demolished beyond hope of being rebuilt or the owner is no longer able to care for the animal).
