Animal Profile - Animal Details Card

Follow

This document helps you find and navigate the Details card in the Animal Profile. The Details card can be used as a quick snapshot of the animal's information, or to update multiple fields at once.

  1. From the landing page, click Animal in the top menu
  2. The Animal search will open.
  3. Search for the animal you wish to view (if you need tips, click here)
  4. From the end of the animal's row, find the three-dot "hamburger menu" on the right.
  5. Your cursor should turn from an arrow to a pointing finger when you hover over the dots. When it shows the pointing finger, click your left mouse button to see the two options.

  9. At the top of the Details Card will be a snapshot of the animal's data:Screenshot
This area is information only and cannot be edited at this time.
  10. NOTE: the Save Data button, found in the top right of the section, is greyed out and inert until a change is made to the card.
  11. The Detail button to the left of Save Data will take you to the animal's profile in the Classic User Interface.
  12. In the centre of the card is a Search field. Place your cursor in the field and begin typing to target any field that appears below it.
  13. Below the Search field is the Identification section. This is the section you can interact with. You will be able to change any active field.
  14. The following fields are available:
    • Size: This field works the same way as the equivalent field in the Classic User Interface. It should display the expected size of the animal at adult size and ideal weight, compared to other animals of the same Type.
    • Colour:  This drop-down field is still linked to Animal Type, so it will still only display colours set to show for that Animal Type.
    • Name: This is a free-text field, so you can simply place your cursor in to make adjustments. NOTE: it does not have the auto-casing found in the Classic User Interface, so make sure you type the name as it is supposed to appear.
    • Sex: Currently, Only Sex is visible on this page with the standard options.
    • Fields such as Status can only be changed if the animal is in care. If the animal is not in care, the drop-down will only show the currently selected sex.
    • Status date and hour: Shows the date/time for the currently selected status. You can adjust it by clicking on the calendar icon at the end or by typing directly into the field.
    • Microchip:  This field does not yet have the same validation settings as the Classic User Interface, so care should be taken when entering microchip numbers to ensure they are the correct length and conform to the search standard (whole number, no spaces, no asterisks or dashes, the length should be either 10 or 15 digits long)
    • Location: This field shows the equivalent of the Shelter Location field in the Classic User Interface. It will be greyed out and inactive if the animal is not in care.
  15. Make any change to any of these fields and the Save Data button at the top right of the Details Card will turn blue, indicating it is active and ready to save your changes. Click the button to save.
  16. Cose the Details Card at any time by clicking on the screen outside of the card, or clicking on the (x) symbol.
