Animal Profile - Animal Data Panel

The purpose of this document is to help you navigate the Animal Data panel on the Animal Profile page. The Animal Data panel can be used for quick updates of information where you only need to update a single field. 

  1. From the landing page, click Animal in the top menu
  2. The Animal search will open. 
  3. Search for the animal you wish to view (if you need tips, click here)
  4. From the end of the animal's row, find the three-dot "hamburger menu" on the right. 
  5. Your cursor should turn from an arrow to a pointing finger when you hover over the dots. When it shows the pointing finger, click your left mouse button to see the two options.

    • Clicking See Animal Detail will take you to the Classic Animal Details page. 
    • Clicking See Animal Profile will take you to the new Animal Profile page
  6. Click See Animal Profile to proceed. 
  7. Beneath the [Name Card?] is a section called Animal data.

  8. If you scroll down this area, it will show you a snapshot of the animal's current information, including: 
    • Name
    • Type
    • Source (Current source)
    • Status (Current status)
    • Sub-Status (Current sub-status)
    • Microchip (primary chip number)
    • Sex
    • Size
    • Weight (Current weight)
    • Age (Years/Months/Weeks)
    • Colour
    • Location (Shelter Location)
    • Region (Physical Location)
    • Kennel
  9. Most of these can be edited from this panel for quick updates/corrections. 
  10. To edit, hover your mouse anywhere over the section you wish to edit until a small pencil icon appears, like this one:

  11. Click the pencil icon to open the edit card:

  12. Make your change in the field provided and the Save Data button seen at the top right of the card will activate. It will be grey and inert until a change is made. 
  13. Click Save Data to save your change and close the card. 
  14. You can close the card and return to the Profile page at any time by clicking anywhere on the screen outside of the card area, or by clicking the (x) cross. 
  15. Any area you cannot edit will not offer the edit icon.
